I think the mind that might find this cartoon funny must be an adolescent one. First, because they’d be able to relate to the ‘kid playing Indian’ trope and, second, because the short leap between fuzzy triangle and female genitals would be new, interesting and therefore hilarious.
Anyone older is going to consider the human politics of the cartoon, which are unpleasant, and which would short-circuit a humorous reaction.
When I see dated and stupid cartoons like this example of vintage sleaze, I wonder how our own time will be viewed 50 years from now? What, which to us seems ordinary and normal, will seem horrifically dumb to people of that time?
I’ll bet that the artist here never for a minute considered whether her clothing was appropriate, as long as it was skimpy/sexy, any more than he would consider the physics of removing hair with a blunt stone implement.
