The Bauhaus Test

If Bauhaus works were to replace the inkblots in Rorschach tests, my mind would be seen as far dirtier than it is. No, Freud, I don’t see penis everywhere; nor do I have penis envy. I just see and smell sex in all things Bauhaus. But then who wouldn’t see sex in this photo of Lis Beyer (aka Ise Gropius) wearing a mask by Oskar Schlemmer?

The Erich Consemüller photo (circa 1927) is part of the biggest Bauhaus exhibition in the UK in over 40 years. The event, Bauhaus: Art as Life, runs at the Barbican Art Gallery through August 12, 2012.

Now don’t you just wonder what I think when I see these four nesting/stacking tables by Josef Albers? *wink*
