The 1920's: The Start of Women on the Hoods of Cars

Women laying suggestively on the hoods of cars has been around since the beginning of the automobile, as evidenced by this photo.

In this particular photo, she sits atop the car's hood and straddles the hood ornament which stands up proudly between her stockinged thighs -- or rather the bare flesh above her stockings.

Hmm, I wonder what the photographer was trying to say with this photograph...
